Fishing adventures

Camping 45 offers excellent fishing opportunities in an environmental spirit. Our home is northern Värmland province where pike, pikeperch and perch are plentiful. Our peaceful forest lakes and gently flowing alpine rivers let you fish from a boat or the shore as you wish. In addition to fishing opportunities, we have exciting activities for the whole family.

Spin fishing and trolling

Angling for pike, pike-perch and perch for example. You can fish from boat or lakeshore.

Fly Fishing

A peaceful lake with plenty of rainbow trouts is situated about 4,5 km from the camping. Fishing licenses can be obtained at the reception

Ice Fishing

Wintertime the thick ice offers glorious days for ice-fishing only one kilometer from the camping. You can rent your equipment at the reception.

Seasons

Camping 45 is open year round renting out boats from May through October. Pike fishing is best in spring and autumn. Ice-fishing flourishes in January and February.

Species and records

Pike, pikeperch and perch dominate in the area, but you can also catch rainbow and brown trout.

Our trophy fishes are:

Pike – 126 cm (1995, Lake Brocken) and 122 cm (2011, Lake Fryken).

Pikeperch – 82 cm (2011, Lake Fryken).

Equipment and tactics

Trolling for pike on our lakes is excellent during the summer months when the fish prefers deeper, open waters.

During the spring and autumn you can also reach the larger fish by spin casting in shallower sections. Trolling and vertical fishing for pikeperch is popular, as it is for perch. For the latter angling is also very effective.

We also can offer Put & Take lakes exclusively for fly-fishing on trout. In the months when the ice is thick enough the ice-fishing is an exciting alternative.

Regulations

We recommend Catch and release fishing.

Catch limitations:

Max. 2 rods per licence, no nets.

Minimum size: brown trout and char – 30 cm, pikeperch – 50 cm.

No brown trout may be taken between 1/9 and 30/12.

Put-and-take: 3 rainbow per licence.
