Värmland is worth a visit in every season!
There are many recreational opportunities in every season. We have picked out some exciting examples for you.
In Summer: The big lakes invite you to swim or go fishing, the sheer endless seeming woods are perfect for hiking and the romantic valleys are ideal for cykling.
Discover the ageold farms of Finnish immigrants, pick berrys or make a trip to nearby Norway. It´s not far to Selma Lagerlöfs farm Mårbacka or to the famous roses-park Rottneros.
Indoor: In case of rain you may visit the nearby swimming hall, bowling alley, ski tunnel or one of the local restaurants. Also the Finnish culture centrum and the motor vehicle museum in Torsby are well worth a visit.

In winter: During winter and until Easter you'll meet excellent skiing conditions - thanks to the nearby mountain "Hovfjället" and the many possibilities for cross-country skiing.
However, also ice fishing, snowshoeing or dog sledding safaris are very popular among our guests.
Spring and autumn: You like it quiet and enjoy to hear 'dewdrops hitting the ground'? Then you certainly should visit us In fall. It´s the season for hiking, fishing, berry and mushroom picking or moose hunting (in early October). In fall the days are noticeably shorter - but it´s mostly sunny, thanks to the continental climate. Springtime (in May) is very intense.
Water sports: Whether you swim in our outdoor pool, in the indoor pool in Torsby or in the nearby lake, go surfing, rent our motor boat or paddle canoe, here you have the opportunity to do so! We rent sailing, rowing and motor boats.
Fishing: You may try your luck from boat or shore - many fish-rich lakes and rivers are waiting for you!
Hiking: A large nature reserve with marked trails is situated behind the camp, inviting even for winter walks.
Cycling: The long valleys along beautiful lakes invite you to cycling tours. We offer rental bikes for ladies and gentlemen.
Upon request we can arrange moose and beaver safaris or horse riding. You may follow us joggging or hear about the best areas for berry picking.
In the surrounding almost uninhabited forest region, there are several abandoned farms and settlements. Many of our guests appreciate the large forrests and lakes because of the absolute silence out in the nature.
Alternatively, you can visit the interesting farms of Finnish immigrants to Northern Varmland. You will meet old farming methods that are still being used. We´re happy to assist you with planning a visit there.
Ski tunnel: If you can´t get enough of winter and want to train cross country skiing in summer, we recommend a visit in the Fortum Skitunnel Torsby. It opened in June 2006, has an indoor shooting range and is with its 1.3 kilometers long railway the longest ski tunnel in the world.
Wintersport: Alpine and cross country skiing, snowboarding and telemark ski on the nearby Hovfjäll. Ski rental on site. Of course you can also walk on your very own track through the countryside. Or would you prefer to learn snowshoeing or ice fishing? For adventurous guests, we arrange snowmobile tours or horse sledge tours.
Berry and mushroom picking: Very popular, especially in late summer and autumn! We show you our best jam recipes or how we preserve mushrooms for the winter storage. In the surrounding area there particularly grow blue-, cran- and wild cloudberries as well as strawberries and raspberries. There are is no Tapeworm recorded in Northern Varmland, so berries can easily be eaten raw. As locals gather only little amounts of mushrooms, there are still plenty of delicacies to find.
Hunting: Whether elk hunting in autumn, scouting tracks or trips to the shooting range, we are happy to advise you.
